The Primary School Courses are designed for primary school students and teachers. We have incorporated New Zealand language curriculum with HSK 1 curriculum. This is an ideal course for primary school classroom teachers, since the course is not only an online self-paced learning course to help teachers to upskill their language ability, but also is a ‘virtual Chinese language assistant‘ with a complete teaching curriculum for teachers to use in classrooms.
This course is designed for teachers to incorporate 10 minutes language teaching every day. Research has shown that the regular practice of foreign language is the best way to obtain and maintain the language for both adult and younger learners.
In this course we have focused on input activities (listening and repeating) in order to give teachers and students adequate language exposure as well as the confidence to continue learning Chinese. The teaching of grammar, phonetics and other language components will be covered in later courses once students and teachers have some basic Chinese language knowledge.
There are many topics included in this course such as, name, age, numbers, family members, useful everyday phrases. The course also incorporates many Chinese culture knowledge, linguistic fun facts as well as cross curriculum activities. There are many already made Quizlet and Khoot quizess as well as many ready to use worksheets for teachers. Have fun!
